Owning the Work

As we move into the holiday break we often reflect upon the past year. Let’s do just a tiny bit of thinking about school and ponder, “What can I do to help my students become more independent in the work they are doing?” Just keep it in the back of your mind as you finish this week and move into the break.  I only have three short tips for this week.

  1. Finish up everything you can before Friday, so you can truly enjoy and relax over the break.
  2. Breathe. This can be a hectic week.  Students are just as excited for the break as we are.  Keep them engaged with meaningful learning to help time feel faster.
  3. Enjoy your break! You have done great work since the beginning of the school year.  You have changed lives. You have made a huge difference in the lives of your students. Now it is time for you to rest, relax, and recharge. Enjoy some self-care. It’s well earned and well deserved.

From all of us, we hope you have an amazing break. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!!! We will continue with our posts on Monday, January 4, 2016. Peace and blessings to you all!
